Weird Grasshoppers out here - Michael

This little guy came hopping through the camp the other day.  Quite a different sort of a look to it.  It is hard to see its face in this picture.  You will need to double-click on the image to bring up a larger view.

More Backyard Construction

This is the continuing saga of my once-open "backyard" becoming the home for twenty conex hooches.  Yup, the trees are gone, and it is quite a mess.  The construction workers are all muslim.  Middle of the day working in the sun during Ramazan (Afghan version of Ramadan) - they were pretty much wiped out.  During this time, they neither eat nor drink anything from sun up to sun down.

Baptism II - Michael

Water baptism truly is something very amazing and very powerful.  Yesterday, after the evening service, I had the privilege of baptizing a new believer.  It was such a joy.

Labor Day 2010

Five years of blogging....five years of family history....I really do need to get it saved in book form....

The day began bright and sunny - as has been typical for weeks on end.

We decided to go find Misawa Citizen's Park and then BBQ at home.  It was not to be....but we had a great play time anyway....though our neighbors seem to think we've lost a few marbles with the deployment.

Arielle and I then ran to the Y100 to look for "things" for the fall rally. Then to Maeda to get some take out dinner.....always an adventure to buy at the local supermarket...We ended up with Yakitori, french fries, rolls and a salad.  Maybe we can BBQ tomorrow.

Thirty Four Days of m/m's.....

34 days of m/m's left in the Daddy Candy jar.....34 x 6....

All the candy that was in the jar and hadn't been eaten...no wonder it felt like the jar wasn't going down.

To gain a bit of perspective....then ....

and NOW!
