Family Night

Josiah had a rare Friday night off. Jamin was working instead. ::snort::

Mike suggested we pack shoe boxes. The chapel will have two drop off dates - 16 and 23 November. We determined NOT to do 23 boxes this year (that box fee killed us and we have other charities we also like to support). The younger ones and I went shopping while Mike took Jared to Basketball practice. We had a lot of fun choosing things to fill "10 boxes". We still plan to make a coloring page for each box. We ran out of boxes. We'll pick some more up at chapel tomorrow. I suspect we'll have around 10 when we are done....we currently have 5 "ready" to go.

We had a blast filling boxes.

I purchased an extra package of big balloon toys and the younger ones had fun playing with those...after Mike and Josiah blew them up.

What a mug! "Glast name, Stacia is crying!" Her balloon popped.

After the balloon play, Mike and Josiah had a Father/Son talk.....and we all watched an episode of Waltons. It was a great family night.

What fun! I would interested in some of the items you packed. I'm always looking for ideas.

The kids and I are going to work on ours this year. We usually let each child do one...23 is very impressive.

Thank you for posting the link to the coloring page! AWESOME! We'll be adding that to our boxes. We're only doing two. I need to go finish up shopping for them this week. Our church is a drop off so that makes it convenient. ;-)

You did have a lot of fun!

We let each child do a box for their age group. I didn't know abou the coloring page. I'll have to remember that for next year. The children are asleep now and we turn our boxes in tomorrow morn.
MJ was the only one that wanted to include a card and we made one w/pic of her next to the ice block slide that was made last year for Fur Rondy. She had fun sharing about herself and where she's from and lots about Jesus. She has a bold and sweet heart for the Lord!

I'll get a list together of what we put in the boxes this year, Debbie.

I know we did NOT do flashlights, balls, pumps etc this year. We simply couldn't afford to do those.

Fun family night!

Even 10 boxes is impressive. The most we've ever done was 2. Not sure if we will this year, I haven't seen any sign of this at our current co-op. Last year the big co-op's church was a drop off point. I'll look for your list of ideas just in case.

Sis: Looks more fun at your house filling up these boxes...... :):) We do them also but without the kid excitement. Ours are due this coming Sunday.

Looks like it was a fun thing for you all to do.

LOVE those big balloons. We play a lot of balloon volleyball around here. We're going to fill a few boxes next week.
