De'Etta's Take: Death of a Six-Foot Teddy Bear (click to buy) is the first book that I have read by Sharon Dunn. I plan to hunt down Death of a Garage Sale Newbie this week. LOL The plot and pace seemed predictable for a cozy mystery and yet I was SURPRISED at the conclusion! ::snort::
Although, I've not read the first book in this series, I had no trouble at all immediately jumping in with the characters. I found the characters to be charming. My only "fuss" on this point is that the female detectives are some of my favorite characters. I wonder if the BHN can run into more crime in Calamity, Nevada....or maybe the detectives can move to Montana. ::Snort:: The "Bargain Hunters Network" includes a college student, a young mother, a middle-aged woman, and a 75 year old lady thinking of the afterlife. They run a BLOG and they have a blog stalker.... Can you beat that? ::snort:: While I did not find this to be the page turner of say Finder's Fee, I found the plot zany and hilarious, I found the characters likable and humourous, I enjoyed the read. I will read more of this series.
This book contains many fun elements....it's "The Potluck Club" , meets Ivy Malone, meets Miss Marple, meets Cagney and Lacey. If you enjoy cozy mysteries, surprise plot twists, quirky characters, humorous settings, and clean reading then this book is for you. It is also a great book for a younger reader who enjoys mysteries.
I have a fiction and non-fiction book to review in March....I think this will be fun. I'm sorry I didn't request the free books on this one; but I've done so with the next two offerings. Happy Reading!
