:::snort::: I can tell that Mike isn't home to visit with...lots of evening posts. I want to go on a walk...but I know that Mike would probably not want me out walking alone at this time of night....so here's a new picture of Stacia. The girls are taking tons of pictures of her....and we want to take pictures of THEM. LOL

When the cradle is not being used for a baby we house dolls in it. Bre woke up to find that Stacia had climbed in and made herself at home. Being well-trained by her photo bug parents she grabbed a camera!
God Bless the USO

We had planned to go to the zoo today with a couple of friends and their families. Well, we were going alone and then they decided to come on Wed. too instead of Tuesday. Last night, after we realized we were all fighting flu symptoms we decided to stay home. It was a good call. Everyone is feeling much better tonight. Maybe our symptoms were anxiety related but it felt good to huddle close today and be “family”. We slept in a bit, we talked and did some chores, we went to the park this afternoon, I got to see Charly – a friend I don’t often get to see, we read and watched Jamin explore pizza making, and we even received a surprise call from Mike which we would have missed if we were gone.

God bless the USO. They have a wonderful room for the troops in Baltimore. Mike could leave his bags there while he spent the day at the airport. He was about to go meet the Chapel Assistant who is accompanying him overseas. They were then heading to their next connection. The USO folks even gave him 15 minutes to phone home for free. I can’t tell you how nice it is to hear his voice….

Rule of 3

AF Spouse lore has long held that things come in threes during deployments/TDY's....maybe someone whose dh is gone a lot, but who isn’t military can comment on whether this is a universal truth.

The *Rule of 3* simply put is that whatever happens will happen in 3’s….three auto break downs, three illnesses, three appliances to break down..

Yesterday the washer began acting up. It fills with water and stops. I bang the lid (which I don't mind) and then it starts. It drains, fills with water to rinse and stops. I go back in and note it is full of water again and bang it again. You get the picture. The computer is freaking out on me...but this a.m. I unplugged the thing to show it who was boss and yes you WILL shut off eventually and now it seems to be fine. That means I need just one more appliance to act up.

The car has now died three times since Mike left.

Three of us have had flu symptoms.

Mike called with three tasks for me to complete for him…call the plumber, call the homestead people and I can’t remember the 3rd – but it was 3.

Life is an adventure! Choosing Joy!
Pizza making craze
One day several months ago, Jamin heard Mike and I talking about the money that could be saved by convincing the children to eat home made pizza on Friday nights. I used to ALWAYS make home made pizza but got out of the habit in AK and so we began to eat pizzeria pizza. Now, of course, the little ones prefer that over homemade. I commented that at $40 a week it was over $2k a year for pizza. We could save that for something else if they would switch. Jamin went to each child from youngest to oldest and they agreed that if he could make it taste like Pizza Hut they’d be willing to eat homemade. That’s his mission. He searched for a Pizza Hut crust recipe. It was like mine except for using baking powder along with yeast and a bit of garlic in the crust. The texture was still not quite right though it tastes yummy. I found some great cheese – monster cheese (think it’s Muenster) at Sam’s club which they all liked. Yesterday he searched some more. He found a site that talked about a Mom who worked with a big pizza company in their research and development department for years. He paid and downloaded the e-book and video demo. We can’t get the demo to work but he began to search for her secrets. I read to find out WHICH company she worked for – Dominos back when it was going through the huge growth it experienced. So far we’d noted that it isn’t so much any new thing that we need to buy as much as trying her new technique. I was relieved that her special flour is NOT all purpose – bleached. She says to use spring wheat – high gluten grown in MT….well we HAVE that since our vacation. Jamin wants me to find some pizza screens to use but says we have everything else. We’ll let you know how it tastes Friday night.
Small Base…

Ah the joys of living on a small base. I received a phone call. I was informed I was talking to Capt. S. She knew my husband had just left for the Middle East. Did he get off o.k.? He is such a nice guy. BTW – you are overdue for a pap and a mammogram. I waited until Ch. G left to call you. I replied that yes, I needed to make an appointment. She told me she’d made the appointments FOR ME and I should go pick up the paperwork this week. Wow…how’s that for everyone knowing everyone’s business???? {G}

Grrrrrr

I guess some never outgrow the love of playing dress up. {bg} Bre has always loved customs and writing plays etc. That love is being refined and used as a ministry tool these days. In fact, she and Krista are teaching the little ones a human video.....I wish they were going to be home longer to get something together for the chapel.....but the time is short. Thanks to Krista for taking the pictures.
