Christmas Book
I remembered this fold from the Live and Learn book. We made a booklet with the various ways of saying Merry Christmas around the world.
The insides list the country, open the flap to see the phrase
I did Nolan's writing so his cover features "Merry Christmas in TX" - which is as you may know "a whole other country".

Now this one looks simple enough for me to do w/my kiddos. We like learning different language phrases...What a great idea. We're trying this one out. Thanks.

Darshia...these were very fun and easy to do....we are going to put them into the big book we are working on but they are cute as a stand alone as well.

Is this an idea from a kit or something you just decided to do on your own? I still need to see if we're going to do something and if we do it'll be the week of Christmas since we have co-op right up until the 18th.
Oh HEATHER - I didn't do Germany! How could I forget GERMANY - being saddled with such a German name and all. Maybe we'll do another book.....merry Christmas part 2. I asked Mike how they said it over there but I guess it isn't a real common phrase. ::snort::
Hmmm... maybe I SHOULD ask for other languages.....Arielle really liked this...Thai was one of our favorites...though I'm still singing Maligayang Pasko.

This little booklet was an idea on my own to put into the Christmas lap book that we are working on. We decided to do Christmas Symbols but we threw this in too.
I just ask them what they want to talk about the next day and then do my research and preparing at night. Arielle wants to talk about Nativities next...not sure it will happen tomorrow as we have speech and co-op in the a.m. and I must get ready for the Saturday tea....maybe...
WAIT Cindy - as I read to Zander about apatasourus' I thought maybe you were wondering where to find a list of languages? I started with the list in "The ADVENTure of Christmas" by Lisa Welchel. I used a fold that we used in an earlier project.
You forgot Germany? I feel so left out. See if I drink any gluhwein for you.

Meant to say it may be spelled "ya'll" but around here it's said in two - three syllables. LOL
Ok, I think I read somewhere that it is y'all. Of course, this is not to be confused with all'y'all. LOL
I'm not Southern and I'm not qualified, but I'll add to it because it intrigued me...
Looked up ya'll in the Urban Dictionary and there are STRONG opinions for both camps regarding y'all and ya'll, but as Annonymous wrote, I couldn't find ya'all...How did this thread get started anyway? lol

OK - HAVE seen it ya'll which may be why I wrote Ya' all.....and it started because anonymous caught my misspelling on Nolan's Christmas book.

to be totally correct it should say "Merry Christmas All y'all anyway.....but I doubt I redo the booklet. ::Snort::
